Even though the technician was courteous something did not feel right. The technician did not do a full inspection of the unit to pinpoint what was really happening with my almost brand new house and AC unit (3.5yrs. old). I was not present at the time of the inspection, but just a few minutes after inspecting the outside unit the technician told me my evaporator coil was beyond repair. The diagnostic was that I needed to have a new evaporator coil installed for a total cost of over $1,900.00 but, a better option would be to replace both units for a total cost of over $3,600.00. After the diagnostic I washed several videos online to learn about the primary reasons why evaporator coils started freezing up. The number 1 reason was dirty coils, dirty air filters or blocked vents. I checked all my vents and they were all open, My filter was brand new and I had these replaced regularly. The last place to check was to look at the evaporator itself to see if there was a secondary filter or if the evaporator was dirty. To my surprise when I inspected the evaporator area it was completely sealed. There was no indication the screws were ever removed and all the tapes sealing the unit when it was first installed were intact. This proved no inspection had been done to the inside of the unit. I called another AC company which found right away what this technician would have found if the door for the evaporator had been opened. The coil was completely clean, but a piece of moisture insulation inside of the duct pipe had become loose and was blocking one side of the evaporator. It was an easy fix and nowhere near the $1900.00 -$3600.00 range. I hope this is an isolated incident driven by the technician and not by the Company. Needless to say this is a very dishonest way of doing business how someone can try to take advantage of someone in need. There might be many customers including elderly and handicapped people who might not second guess what the technician so securely is presenting as the reason for the faulty unit.

A/c water leak in Grayson. Unit is located in the attic, secondary drain pan is dry at this time. System is cooling at this time, flush drain line again, filter is clean and new. Did a leak search on the evaporator coil and didn’t get any leaks, checked refrigerant pressures and there are good. Water that the customer saw probably be the remaining water from the last time the technician was here.

Drain line was very clogged, cleared drain with nitrogen, Vacuum and cleaner. Emptied a gallon into the drain and a gallon left, repeated 3 times with the same result.

No cool in Grayson, arrived on site, found 2005 unit with clogged filter, corroded evaporator coil, weak blower motor capacitor, over amping and dirty blower motor assembly, only one form of water safty, condenser coil is clogged, weak duel run capacitor and over amping compressor and fan motors. Recommend replacing all capacitors, installing compressor assist kit to prolong the life of the compressor, surge protector to each piece of equipment, overflow water safty switch and signing up for maintenance to clear the drain line and clean the condenser coil. Replaced capacitors and installed compressor assist kit. Unit is operating normally at this time

Warranty Grayson. Completed diagnostic. Found screws for furnace door had come loose causing it to deactivate door switch turning off the furnace. Replaced screw and made sure it was tight to avoid happening again. Evap coil and blower are clean. All electrical components are working. System missing secondary water safety switch. Home would benefit from having CO detector installed as well as Uv light system installed in furnace to clean air and kill any bacteria or viruses that could be harmful to residents.

No heat Grayson. Completed diagnostic. Found no issues with system. System came on when I arrived and turned it on at thermostat. Satisfied to 70 degrees. Turned off. I bumped it up to 72 degrees and it satisfied then as well. Informed customer if problem happens again to leave furnace on so that we are able to see the error code when we arrive.

Two system heat maintenance in Grayson. Arrived on site, changed filter and cleared barometric ports. Checked ignition systems, electrical connections, amp draw and capacitance. Found upstairs system has no secondary water safty. Main level has no water safty at all, amp draw is high on inducer motor, 5uf capacitor is reading 2.5uf and blower assembly is dirty both putting stress on motor that is showing signs of oil leaking. Flame sensor reading low as well. Due to age and condition of system, I recommend replacing main level furnace. Both systems, however, are operating at this time.
